Okay, I was tagged several days ago, but today I'm in the mood to do this, so...

Rules: Once you’ve been tagged, you are supposed to write a note with 16 random things, facts, habits, or goals about you. At the end, choose 16 people to be tagged.

1. The one thing I will always prefer about where I live now over any of the cities I've been in is the stars. If I stick around here, I will be purchasing a very nice telescope in the future.

2. I hate washing dishes by hand. We're talking a level of hatred that if it were a fear, would be a phobia. I'll do it if I absolutely have to, but it is one of the few things that really grosses me out.

3. I keep saying that I want to get a dog when I get settled. And I do. But what I want even more is a pet tortoise.

4. I also want a horse, very badly. When I was little, I was *that* little girl, the one whose entire being revolved around horses. My spending money all went toward My Little Ponies and other horse figures. I read every horse book I could get my greedy little hands on. My wall was covered with pictures of horses and unicorns. The happiest day of my young life was the day my grandfather brought his horse Trigger to my family's pasture and informed me that he was now my horse Trigger. And while I've grown up and grown away from that level of fanaticism about horses (really, they were my first fandom), I still love them.

5. Even though I haven't really read comics in a while, I still love Wolverine. I know he's one of the most cliched favorite characters to have, but...well, if you ever met my dad, you'd understand.

6. Part of the reason I'm writing this right now is because I have work I want and sort of need to get done this evening, but I don't really want to do right now. Procrastination for the win!

7. Some days I really wish I had been drawn down a different path. Maybe I could have been an astronomer or astro-physicist, if only I'd liked math more. Or if I had been more ambitious, perhaps I could have gotten a position as an editor with a major publisher. Some days I even find myself wondering whether I wouldn't have been happy in the military.

8. I have never really worn makeup, but it's only recently that I have decided that makeup is inherently sexist. I will not dye my hair for the same reason. (And I'm not saying that women who wear makeup or dye their hair are not feminists or anything like that. I don't have a problem with other women doing it, I simply refuse to myself. I am better at blatant statements than I am at attempting to subvert.)

9. I get really pissed off when I see babies with earrings. You may think it unreasonable of me, but it just really infuriates me. One of my sisters-in-law had her little girls' ears pierced when they were infants, and it just made me want to cry in frustration.

10. I really love being Aunt Kristy though. There is probably nothing that makes me happier than having one of my nieces or nephews yell for me and run up and hug me.

11. I have never had a boyfriend. I haven't really even dated. And I'm kind of oblivious when it comes to signals, though sometimes that's intentionally oblivious.

12. I daydream a lot. When I'm walking or driving, if I'm not actively talking with someone, I'm probably acting out a story in my own head. I probably shouldn't admit to it, but sometimes I'll even hold entire conversations out-loud.

13. Of course, I'm also prone to talking to myself out-loud when I'm shopping alone. I get fewer odd looks nowadays as I figure most people think I'm just talking on a bluetooth. The truth is that I never use my bluetooth, so if you see me talking to the air, I probably am just talking to myself.

14. If it weren't for the job market/economy, I wouldn't even be thinking about trying to open my own firm. This is partly out of cowardice (though somewhat justified cowardice in that law school really doesn't teach you how to be a lawyer, just how to think like one), but there's also more than a little laziness to it. There's a lot of work that goes into owning your own business!

15. Random note: My dad owns a rock yard. He quarries, packs, buys, and sells building stone such as people use on their homes. Because of my experience with the industry, I have no problem identifying fake rock.

16. The superpower I most often wish for is teleportation, though I would also be okay with superspeed. While I love driving, I also love having time to spend with people. Not to mention that if I could teleport (or run really, really fast), I could easily and cheaply visit any place I wanted. A trip to Lex Vegas or G'boro would not have to be the big production it is right now. Alternately, I'd love to have more intelligence. I enjoy being as smart as I am, and I would love to be even smarter.

Okay. There. I've stated sixteen fairly random things about myself and wasted a bunch of time doing so. Go me. I'm not tagging anyone though--I'd enjoy seeing 16 Things from anyone on my friends list.
